— Baby Rabbit —

I though the view from above was an interesting way to portray this baby Cottontail. I wanted to help hide the rabbit by placing him in a scene surrounded with the same brownish/grey color tones of its fur. Even though it’s out in plain view, it would be quite hard for a predator to see. Good camouflage is this baby rabbits greatest defense.

I had a lot of fun painting this picture. I love painting little pieces of nature like this. Everyone notices the big dramatic landscapes. I love finding little pieces of nature that are normally overlooked. I like to show that a small area within a big landscape can be just as interesting and beautiful as the landscape itself.
