About Vincent Bihn II
I was born in 1973 and raised in the Hudson Valley in New York. With over 200 acres of old farmland around my parents’ home, it’s no wonder I fell in love with nature and wildlife. Some of my greatest memories as a child are the hiking and camping trips my father would take me on in the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. The feelings and sights from those trips were like seeds planted in my mind. They would later grow and bloom and help inspire me to make some of the images and moods you will find in my paintings today.
In just a few years of grade school, a talent for art began to appear. Even at this young age many of my drawings were filled with birds, mammals and landscapes. After high school, inspired by wildlife artist Robert Bateman and realist artist Andrew Wyeth I headed into the world of art with a new vision and inspiration. Although mostly self taught I learned a great deal by studying the works of these and other great artists. From realist painters to abstract and impressionist painters. I would examine their technique, ideas and methods of painting. Over the years I have come to develop a style of my own.
God has given me a gift, and I know I will continue to use it as long as I am able. There is a lot more to see and experience out there, and I look forward to capturing it with my brush.
