There is nothing more beautiful than a winters morning after a fresh snowfall. This Red Fox is spending his morning looking for food. He has spotted some rabbit tracks in the snow, but the rabbit is nowhere to be found. This is unfortunate for the Fox, as finding food after a heavy snowfall can be a challenging ordeal.
I wanted the viewer to spend time exploring this painting. Although it is a somewhat still painting, your eyes can’t help but move around the entire scene. Once moment you are observing the foreground, the next you are exploring the field and woods in the distance. I am very fond of Fox and am glad to have been able to place one in such a nice setting.
